JOshua
Adams
is one of the youngest of four brothers. He grew up in southern Illinois and
moved to Greenfield, Missouri at the age of fifteen when his father Ollie
Adams decided to become the full time gospel preacher in Greenfield. His
oldest brother, Jason, is also a preacher. Being surrounded by strong
Christian family and friends and recognizing the need of strong faithful
preachers is what inspired him to come to Bible Institute of Missouri.
He is a first year student and is eighteen years old. He is excited at this
wonderful opportunity and hopes he can learn what he needs and smooth out
his preaching so he can be better received. He enjoys mostly any sport,
music, and hanging out doing "whatever" with his friends and family. "My
father is the man that helps me find out what I need to do, and my mom is
the one that gives me the boost that makes it possible," he says.
RUSS
EARL,
the youngest
of three brothers, lived in Arkansas before making the move to Springfield
to attend the Bible Institute of Missouri. Russ hopes to begin
local work after receiving the knowledge to be learned while at the
Bible Institute of Missouri. One of Russ’ favorite verses is
Jeremiah 20:9 which says, “Then I said, ‘I will not make mention of Him, Nor
speak anymore in His Name. But his word was in my Heart like a burning fire
shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and could not.’”
KEVIN HEAVIN is a native of Springfield, MO. He
has a B.A. in Bible from International Bible College (now know as Heritage
Christian University) and a M.S. in Counseling from Freed-Hardeman
University. While attending International Bible College, Kevin met the
former Samantha Pratt and was married on December 14, 1996. They have three
beautiful children: Jessa, Micah, and Tomas. Over the last few years, he has
worked with the Cloverdale Church of Christ in Cloverdale, AL and Bemis
Church of Christ in Jackson, TN. While attending Cloverdale, he worked with
the youth, led singing, taught Bible classes, and preached. At Bemis Church
of Christ, he served as a deacon involved with the youth. He also taught
classes, led singing, and preached occasionally.
He chose the Bible Institute of Missouri to gain a deeper
knowledge of God’s Word and because Bible Institute’s faithfulness in
proclaiming and preserving God’s Word. Since the beginning of the
Bible Institute of Missouri, he has seen the development of several
men into gospel preachers. He believes Bible Institute of Missouri
will help him in becoming an effective teacher and gospel preacher as
stated in 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that you have heard from me among
many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach
others also.”
